My writing journey began in early elementary school. I would write stories in random notebooks, and when I was seven, I wrote and illustrated my first official story. At that point of my life, I had no idea that I wanted to be an author.
When I was in fourth grade, I wrote a story about a girl bonding with a rescued dolphin and gave it to my younger sister as a birthday gift. I loved writing that book, and since my sister loved it as well, I wrote five more books in the series.
Around fifth or sixth grade, I had the idea of writing a story about standing up for one’s Christian faith in the midst of persecution. After working on and off this project for roughly three years, I finished Trials and Triumphs, a novelette, in eighth grade. We had the book bound at Barnes and Noble for private, personal use, and I had the opportunity to share the story with friends and family. Writing this story caused me to want to seriously pursue writing.
In August of 2023, I was introduced to an organization called the Young Writer’s Workshop. This Christian organization focuses on supporting young writers in their craft. I joined the Young Writer’s Workshop in 2024 and was given access to training on how to grow my craft and to a community of fellow young writers. Through this organization, I have grown in my writing significantly.
Since 2024, I have been seriously pursuing my writing. I pour countless hours of my time into my writing, and I am always trying to learn more about my craft. I have written numerous short stories and drafted several full-length projects. Even though I experiment in multiple genres, my main genres are fantasy (without magic) and Biblical fiction.
Because of my love for writing, I am working towards becoming a published author. I hope to regularly publish novels for Young Adults that are either fantasy or Biblical fiction. Ultimately, my goal is to use my gift for storytelling to point people to Jesus and to bring honor to God.
